Tom Lea Elementary
Home of the Brave Bulls
Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!
I am very happy to be a full time reading teacher at Tom Lea! We have such a dedicated faculty, and our students are amazing!
This is my eighteenth year teaching for EPISD. I attended NMSU and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1999 and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Learning Technologies in 2006.
I am a native El Pasoan! I was born here and attended Hillside, Burnet, Bassett Middle, Austin, and Irvin High Schools. I started my college career at the El Paso Community College while working a full-time job, taking classes at night, early mornings, and even during my lunch hour. I was very determined to succeed.
Tom Lea's Literacy Lab is located in room C2. We have two complete Scholastic Guided Reading Libraries that teachers may check out leveled books from. For downloadable inventories that are searchable by title, author, genre or level, see the Guided Reading pages on the left side of this page. We also have a growing library of teacher resources and professional development materials.
My prep time is 1:30 to 2:15 daily.
