Mrs. Minerva Morales
Welcome to Tom Lea Elementary!   I am Mrs. Minerva Morales.   Mrs. Leticia Chavez and myself will be team teaching this school year. I  will be the  Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies teacher for 3A and 3E students.   Math, Science and Enrichment will be taught by Mrs. Chavez.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a proud native El Pasoan, a product of EPISD having attended Rusk Elementary, Bassett Middle School and Austin High School. I am a UTEP graduate with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Early Childhood and a Minor in Reading. This will be my 23rd year teaching.  I have had the opportunity to teach at several schools in different capacities; various grade levels, at risk coordinator and student activities director.  Being a third grade teacher has taken my teaching career full circle. I welcome all 3rd grade teaching challenges and to experience seeing firsthand the phenomenal progress my students will make throughout the 2016-2017 school year.

Teaching at Tom Lea Elementary has been a rewarding experience.  I have seen firsthand how enthusiastic students are about attending school and learning.  The parents in the school community have made an everlasting impression; their support of their child's education is instrumental for my student's success in school.  It's great to see so many parents involved in their child's education. "I believe that behind every successful student is a caring parent."

I look forward to working with you and your child.  I have planned a wide variety of learning activities that will enhance our standard third grade curriculum as well as GT.  Differentiated teaching occurs daily in order to meet each of my student's needs. Please be assured that I will do my best that the time spent in my classroom is a safe, positive  experience conducive of quality learning for all students. Together we will help your child develop academically and socially so they will have a healthy, positive outlook towards school.  Exciting times are ahead!
